Executive Summary
Paragon Micro surveyed wireless coverage at 39 Navy Exchange Service Command sites across 5 countries and installed 103 wireless access points where coverage was needed.
The team configured and kitted the access points at the Paragon Micro warehouse, coordinated shipping to 11 regional sites, removed old hardware that would not work for NEXCOM, and confirmed consistent signal after installation. The project was completed in 2 months.
The added access points give vendors a consistent signal to enter inventory data while they stock vending machines.
Mission Challenge
Since 1946, NEXCOM has provided quality goods and services at a savings to Navy customers. Its six business lines include Navy Exchange retail stores, the NEXCOM Hospitality Group, and the Ships Store Program, and it donates 100 percent of its earnings to Navy quality-of-life programs.

NEXCOM sites also have vending machines. The vendors who stock them enter inventory data when they restock, and that work depends on a consistent wireless signal where the machines are.
NEXCOM needed wireless coverage added where the signal fell short, across 39 sites in 5 countries. The work required a survey of existing coverage, additional access points where the survey showed they were needed, and confirmation of a consistent signal once the new equipment was in place.
Technical Architecture Delivered
Paragon Micro deployed 103 wireless access points across 39 sites in 5 countries.
Paragon Micro configured each access point at its warehouse before shipping, so the equipment arrived preconfigured. The team kitted the access points at the same warehouse.
Where existing hardware would not work for NEXCOM, the team removed it. After installation, Paragon Micro checked the signal and confirmed consistent coverage.
Project Management and Execution
Paragon Micro completed the project in 2 months, from site survey through signal validation.
The project started with a kickoff call with NEXCOM. From there, Paragon Micro held weekly calls and sent a weekly newsletter, so NEXCOM received regular updates throughout the project.
The team configured and kitted the access points at the Paragon Micro warehouse and coordinated shipping to 11 regional sites. It then installed the access points, removed old hardware that would not work for NEXCOM, and confirmed consistent signal.
Performance Metrics
- 39 sites covered across 5 countries
- 103 wireless access points configured and installed
- 11 regional sites received coordinated shipments
- Completed in 2 months
- Old hardware removed where it would not work for NEXCOM
- Consistent signal confirmed after installation
- Weekly calls and newsletters from kickoff through completion
Operational Impact
Vendors can now enter inventory data while stocking vending machines at sites where the signal previously fell short.
Old hardware that would not work for NEXCOM is gone from the sites, and the new access points are where the site surveys showed coverage was needed.

Why This Matters

A wireless rollout across 39 sites in 5 countries can stall at any site where equipment arrives unconfigured, incomplete, or incompatible with what is already installed.
Paragon Micro configured and kitted the access points before they shipped, removed old hardware that would not work, confirmed signal after installation, and kept NEXCOM updated every week. The project was completed in 2 months.
Paragon Micro demonstrated:
- Wireless site surveys across 39 sites in 5 countries
- Configuration and kitting before shipment
- Shipping coordination to 11 regional sites
- Removal of old hardware
- Signal validation after installation
- Weekly calls and newsletters that kept NEXCOM updated
This engagement shows Paragon Micro can survey, configure, ship, install, and validate wireless coverage for a multi-site Navy organization across 5 countries.
